In the last quarter of 2011, national VoIP operators earned about 900 m rubles (roughly $30 m), but their results still fail to compete with those of the absolute market leader, Skype. Russians also often make voice calls via Mail.Ru, social networks (Odnoklassniki and VKontakte), QIP, Multifon, SIPNET and Google Talk.
Experts believe Russian VoIP market will continue to grow, helped by advancement of broadband Internet access and mobile Internet (i.e. LTE) throughout the country. By the end of 2012, Russia will have 27 million VoIP users, and 37 million by the end of 2015, analysts predict.
